It’s the time of year we’ve all been waiting for! It's the magical season when we’re all focused on celebrating with our loved ones and suprising them with beautiful tokens of our appreciation!
If your friend, sibling or significant other is a yoga bunny (or a yoga reindeer, to make it more in tone with the festive season!), it only takes a ‘best yoga gift’ search on the web to make you feel overwhelmed with all the options, especially if you’re not usually a yoga…elf yourself (rhyme intended).
To avoid any more gooey Christmas references, cheesy rhymes and the like, here’s a list of 7 best Christmas gifts that are guaranteed to pamper the yogi in your life!
A new yoga mat
Could not help placing this as number 1 given this is a website that sells yoga mats… but before you cringe at our subtle marketing efforts – seriously, a new yoga mat is indeed one of the best gifts for yogis.
The holiday season is also a time when we all look ahead towards the next year and make resolutions for self-improvement. Chances are, the yoga lover in your life has already set their mind on improving their yoga practice, so a yoga mat that is an upgrade from their existing one would help them a lot to become closer to their goals. Plus, yoga mats do get used up with time so you just can’t go wrong with gifting them a new mat – it’s like helping them turn on a brand new grippy & fresh-smelling leaf into achieving their yoga goals in 2020.
Bespoke yoga props
Yoga wheels, bricks, stretchy bands and gorgeous yoga outfits – there’s a lot of BEAUTIFUL things to choose from out there. If there’s one thing you need to take away from this post it’s this: find out what your Yogi would like most, and then get them something that makes them truly stand out, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. There are loads of options to choose from - so make sure you do your research.
A spot in a yoga retreat for 2020
These days there’s a type of yoga retreat for everybody – from the ones in exotic locations to those combining hobbies together like yoga and cycling, yoga and drawing or –yes! – yoga and wine tasting. Most organisers have retreats scheduled multiple times a year and they understand the need to keep timings flexible – if you contact them they might even be able to get you more date options so you don’t accidentally lock in your friend’s holiday plans!
A one-on-one yoga session with a teacher
There’s a lot of demand for yoga right now and as a result many yoga classes are crowded. This means teachers need to divide their attention to lots of students so you’ll be sure to pamper your yogi with a gift of a private yoga session where they can have their teacher’s undivided attention to help them improve even more. Find out the yoga style they like most before booking and you can’t go wrong!
A yoga photoshoot with a professional photographer
Your bendy friend will love posing in a yoga photoshoot – and this has nothing to do with being vain!
Yoga photos are great to have whether or not they’re intended for publishing on social media – when your yogi of choice is 90 and slightly less bendy (because they did yoga!) they’ll be glad to see themselves in their yogi prime! A professional photoshoot isn’t difficult to organise and doesn’t have to be costly – yoga photographers and brands (hint! Hint! – including us) are always on the lookout for models to build their photo portfolio so the photoshoot may even be free for you – you just have to do your research.
The gift of a few yoga classes
Is there a studio they’d love to try out but haven’t had the courage to take the leap yet? It’s been shown that practicing yoga in groups is more beneficial than just practicing by yourself at home – both physically and mentally! A gift of a few yoga classes at a hip studio will go a long way as yogis are in constant search for new environments where to challenge their practice and relax!
Book them on a yoga teacher training taster session
If your friend is the bunniest of yoga bunnies and is considering some teacher training to take their passion to the next level it may be a good idea to book them for taster sessions for classes that help amateur yogis become professional yoga teachers. Look them up – yoga is so popular everywhere that you’re almost guaranteed to find such classes near you – and they organise open days for those interested.
